My association with JPMA was since 1982 when Dr. Anwar Naqvi was Managing Secretary. My first article was published in JPMA in 1995 after an exhausting review and revision then there were six more articles which were published. One of my editorial written in 2088 on "Urethral stricture disease" was my first experience of how to write an editorial for a journal.
I am on editorial board of JPMA since 1997 and I have reviewed many articles on the subjects related to stones, infections and stricture urethra. This was a good experience to increase my knowledge because I have to read many more journals to suggest new ideas for authors. Dr. Fatema Jawad has always encouraged me to write and review and taught me how best I can do this.
During my association I found JPMA as a good standard compatible to any international journal. It is multidisciplinary where doctors of all specialties can send their research work for publication. It has grown from national to international repute and there is lot of improvement in the quality of papers, material and pictures with the passage of time. I feel honoured to be associated with this medical journal and hope this will progress more in the future.
