First, I would like to congratulate Journal of Pakistan Medical Association (JPMA) on successfully completing 60 years of its publication. I must admit that it is only by the efforts of a truly dedicated team, the journal is able to maintain a high standard for scientific medical publications and I feel myself fortunate to be part of this team.
It was only nearly two years back when I met Dr. Fatema Jawad, Editor-in-Chief of the journal. I was assigned to accompany her while she was one of the judges at a Student\'s Research Project seminar at Hamdard University, Karachi. On the way back after the symposium she offered whether I can give some time to JPMA for editorial review of the articles. I eagerly accepted it and started to help out on Saturdays along with Dr. Fatema, who is also present at the JPMA office for routine journal activities.
Being a novice in the field of medical editing, very soon I realized that under the assistance ship of Dr. Fatema, not only my editing skills got better but also it was a learning experience to know how to manage a scientific journal efficiently. I tried to gather knowledge and skills as much as I can from her and to incorporate it in my editorial reviews.
I pray Allah Subhanautala to shower His blessings on JPMA and its team (both editorial and administrative) and wish to be part of it for a very long time. Amen.
